iPhone 5 removable battery and card slot

2012 February 3

Whilst the next iOS device to come from Apple will no doubt be the Apple iPad 3 all eyes look towards Apple’s next generation iPhone, and just what newness the iPhone 5 will bring to the iOS faithful. There has been quite a lot of speculation on what the iPhone 5 will look like as Apple in their infinite wisdom decided to make the iPhone 4S look just like the iPhone 4, so most are hoping the next iPhone will come with a new design.

We know for example that iPhone 5 should arrive with a larger touch screen than the iPhone 4S but won’t be teardrop shaped as reported earlier by the 9to5 Mac guys, whilst it has been reported by the Daily Mail that there is a possibility that the iPhone 5 could have a special nanotech waterproof coating.

And of course there is the speculation that the next generation iPhone will come with 4G LTE capability as suggested by an article over on Apple Insider.

The latest news on the iPhone 5, again from 9to5 Mac who spoke to a “well connected” developer during Macworld that claims Apple engineers are “heavily into NFC,” and an unnamed developer is working on an app that features NFC payments that could possibly mean the iPhone 5 will arrive with NFC capability.

All of this is of course speculation as we all know no one will really know what the iPhone 5 will look like or offer until such times as Apple decide to let it be known and that wont be until they are good and ready to do so.

As for the arrival of the iPhone 5, well along with that 4G LTE speculation by a Morgan Stanley analyst, also suggests that the mobile space could see the next iOS smartphone surface in the third quarter of this year, but of course that hasn’t been confirmed in any way.

Again all of the above is speculation rather than hard and fast facts, but we’d love to know what our readers think the iPhone 5 will pack when it finally comes out to play. Would you perhaps like to see the iPhone 5 arrive sporting a removable battery and a card slot for instance, or perhaps you would like other features? So feel free to share your personal preferences for what the iPhone 5 should sport to our comments area below.
